Children’s Novel Wins Costa Book of the Year

Congratulations to Frances Hardinge for winning the prestigious Costa Book of the Year Award 2015 with her Victorian murder mystery The Lie Tree – and for being only the second children’s novel to win since the award began!

The Lie Tree tells the story of Faith Sunderly, whose family has left England for a remote island in order to escape a scandal.

When Faith’s father is found dead under mysterious circumstances, she sets out to uncover the truth, and discovers a strange tree that feeds off whispered lies.

Part historical, part detective story and part horror, this is a real page turner we should all be reading.
